Creative Ideas for Full Time Housekeepers

Go the extra mile!

Many Housekeepers approach their job simply as cleaning. At Mom's Best Friend, however, our Housekeepers go the extra mile to be fun and creative!

It all starts with using the talents you already possess and matching them with your employer's needs and desires! Some of our housekeepers start with a survey of their owner's likes...what is their favorite coffee/drink? What is their favorite flower? What is their favorite scent? What is their favoriate breakfast/dessert/meal? Using that information, try to surprise your employer by going above and beyond!

Here are some fun ideas for your next assignment and beyond!  (A word of caution - make sure you know your employer's personality well enough so that you don't overstep any boundaries in any of these areas.)

• Cooking/Baking: Do you have a dinner dish you've mastered? Do you love making cookies from your grandmother's secret recipe? You don't have to be a culinary wizard to surprise your family with a treat if this is your passion or hobby!
• Organizing: Families may get so busy that they don't even notice when things get cluttered! Surprise them by organizing a closet, playroom, or pantry!
• Entertaining: Does your employer love to throw parties? Are you crafty with placecards or decorating? Pitch in and make their event special!
• Flowers: If you have a green thumb or knack for arranging flower, you might want to surprise your employer by using these talents! Even if it's as simple as leaving a single flower (their favorite!) on their nightstand, you will make their day special!
• Fun surprises: Use your own skills and thoughtfulness to surprise your employer. Whether you watch YouTube to learn how to make a towel animal for their child, or you show up with their favorite coffee drink one morning, they will see how special and caring you are!

Our families really notice when the Full Time Housekeepers go out of their way to make things special, and our housekeepers have more fun in their jobs!
